Dr Isabel Hetram with her two dogs

Dr. Isabel Hetram, DVM

Dr. Isabel Hetram graduated from Guelph University with a Bachelor of Science and her DVM degree in 1994. It was her love for animals growing up on a hobby farm with goats, chickens, rabbits, a horse and a few ponies, that lead to her pursuing a career as a DVM. She spent one year working with large animals at Elmscot Vet Services in Brantford and then bought the Caledonia Veterinary Clinic with her husband Vinny in 1995. In the past 20 years she has developed her interests in behaviour, dentistry and soft tissue surgery.

Her favourite part of the job is problem-solving to find the diagnosis and making each patient feel better. Dr. Isabel likes to keep active. She was a member of Instant Replay Flyball team that held the world record for the fastest dog team in 1997. Skor, the dog she owned and trained was the anchor dog on that team! Now, when she’s not at work, she keeps entertained with her large furry family that consists of seven dogs that play flyball, do agility, obedience and tricks. She also has three sphynx cats that use the toilet instead of a litter box and an outdoor cat that has learned invisible fence borders.
